Models and numerical methods for granular materials
GdR CHANT workshop
ENPC, November 19-21, 2007
Retour à la page en français
With the GdR CHANT, we organize
a three day workshop on granular materials (considered as systems of discrete
particles). Our aim is to gather people from mechanics and applied mathematics
communities, to work and exchange ideas on the followings themes:
- models for granular materials;
- numerical methods for granular materials simulation.
- coarse-graining issues, with the aim to derive a macroscopic model
starting from a discrete fine-scale model.
As for the previous GdR CHANT workshops, our aim is twofold. First,
we want to provide introductory lectures to the part of the audience
who is not familiar with this field. Second, we will address some current challenges at the research frontier.
Consequently, the workshop will be composed of two short courses (4
hours each), and of several 45 minutes talks.
The workshop will take place at the Ecole Nationale des Ponts et Chaussées (Marne
la Vallée, France), in the Navier room.
Note that the CEMRACS 2008
will focus on related themes.
